Statue Desecration Sparks Protests

This is regarding this article on Times Of India.

A statue of ambedkar got desecrated and those god-forsaken Dalits have taken to the streets. Whats worse is that it happened in UP and violence gets sparked off in Maharashtra. I think the people of Maharashtra have a very selfish and stupid mentality (I'd like to use some really crude words but am refraining from doing so).

I think all these Dalits should be thrown out of the country. Deport them to Bangladesh or Pakistan and ask them to take ALL of ambedkar's statues with them. That way, no one will desecrate their beloved leader (who almost gave India to these damn Dalits). Along with them, all those politicians who indulge in vote-bank politics to get their dalit votes should also be thrown out.

There has always been this obsession with statues. It think it emanates from basic Hindu religion and culture which propagates idol worship. Shiv sena goons turn violent when meenatai's statue is desecrated, dalits turn violent when ambedkar's statue is desecrated. And the Parsi community, whose entire temple wall was going to get demolished didn't so much as shout a slogan. These foolish ignoramuses should learn something from the Parsi community.

The irony of this whole fiasco is that followers of a dalit who authored the constitution that prohibits caste-based discrimination, are demanding reservations and quotas and special treatment because of their 'low caste'.

What happened is very unfortunate, both the disrespect shown towards the statue of Ambedkar and the disrespcet shown towards the civilised and tolerant culture our country is supposed to represent. Check out my views of the whole thing in Mental Floss
